iT2 is hiring an MS Azure Architect with hands-on expertise in Purview, Intune, Defender, Entra Id and Copilot to design, implement, and optimize Azure cloud solutions that align with business goals and industry best practices for a greenfield implementation.
- Focus will be on architecting/designing the MS Purview solution as part of a greenfield implementation of MS Purview with integrations.
Specific Contract Deliverables include:
- Preparing the Azure and Purview environment for Copilot – identify sensitive data (cloud and on-premises). Identify oversharing of sensitive data and enable appropriate monitoring
- Securing environment for email attachments
- Enabling secure file sharing with third parties
- Configuring Data Lifecycle Management and enable eDiscovery
- Convert existing email archives to the m365 platform
- Setup policies in monitoring mode to validate assumptions. Policies will be set up based on available documents such as Client’s Data Classification Policy and Records Management Program Manual.
Overall MS Architect Responsibilities
The Azure Architect will play a pivotal role in advising stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable and secure Azure architecture, and ensuring alignment with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure.

- Azure Architect must have advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance
- Architect and design end-to-end Azure solutions that meet business and technical requirements
- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance.
- Implement Microsoft Intune for secure device and endpoint management across field and office environments.
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity and automate workflows by ensuring data security governance
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Python for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and operational tasks
- Conduct architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
Must have excellent communication skills and the technical acumen to:
- Advise stakeholders and translate business needs into secure, scalable, and cost-effective Azure designs that align with cloud best practices
- Ensure all solutions adhere to the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure
Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
- Developers to ensure application compatibility and performance
- Administrators to streamline deployment, operations and monitoring of cloud resources
- Security Engineers to enforce compliance and security best practices
- Data Engineers to support data governance, lineage, and analytics using Microsoft Purview
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in a cloud architecture role and a Purview Implementation
- Strong expertise in Azure services – Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity, and Security
- Deep knowledge of cloud architecture principles and best practices
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-premises integration
Hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance
- Microsoft Intune for endpoint and device management
- Microsoft Copilot for AI-driven productivity
- PowerShell and Python scripting for automation and integration
Nice To Have Skills:
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert – highly preferred
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR , HIPAA)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with IaC – Infrastructure as Code – Biceps, ARM Templates
